Grab a picnic blanket, some wine and your distinguished movie sweetheart and head to the world's largest short film festival right here in beautiful Sydney! Tropfest offers film makers the chance to showcase their creative visions, and gives them a shot at Hollywood. From a pool of hundreds of entrants, 16 finalists are chosen, and these rise to stardom when their work is aired before an audience of film alumni, critics and 80,000 Domain picnickers. The festival draws more than 650 entries from first-time directors, film students and experienced industry folk. This year’s the world's largest short film festival returns for its 18th year with the Tropfest Signature Item being “dice”. It’s a free outdoor celebration, with live music and entertainment on the Gibson Artist Stage. Pitch your rug nice and early - the entertainment throughout the afternoon will keep you occupied before the screenings commence
