Have you ever had the "turn up to school naked" dream?! Well during Sydney Mardi Gras this year you can test it out! Internationally renowned artist Spencer Tunick has revealed that he will create an installation using thousands of nude Australians on the steps of the iconic Sydney Opera House on the morning of Monday 1 March. The artist is calling on all Australians interested in taking part to register immediately at The Base to reserve a place. Tunick’s installation, called ‘The Base’, will be one of the highlights of this year's Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival. Participation in the art installation however is open to all Australians, regardless of sexuality. All nude volunteers will be rewarded with an official Spencer Tunick photograph of 'The Base. Grab your favourite street market rat and head to the Surry Hills Festival ‘2010’. The festival will showcase the thriving creative community of Surry Hills, the festival this year will be celebrated in parks and other sites across the suburb on Saturday 10 April while its regular home, Prince Alfred Park, undergoes a much needed face lift. The 2010 festival will be creative, intimate and have a community picnic feel with the focus of the festival celebrations at Ward Park (Devonshire Street) & Shannon Reserve (Crown Street). The Surry Hills Community Centre will also feature some great activities for the young and young at heart and introduce the community to the fabulous new centre. As well, satellite events will take place in venues across the 2010 suburb.

For all you movie buff couples - get ready for the 2010 French Film Festival! This year featuring some outstanding films, all showing at Palace Cinemas. This year, the festival turns 21. For a long time it was the year that one came of age in France. The age one reaches maturity. 21 years over which the festival has grown, evolved and taken on new forms to finally become the great success which we know today. More than 80 000 spectators in 2009, with an unbelievably wide range and number of quality films on offer in 2010: 43 films in all, comedies, love stories, thrillers of course but also films with a message which say no, no to the injustice of a system, a way of life, no to oppression. At the same time, films which also say yes, yes to human rights, to the freedom of thought and to dignity.
